William J. Pursley, Owner and Founder

Bill majored in public accounting and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Gonzaga University in 1969. He received his law degree from Santa Clara University in 1972 and became a member of the California State Bar that same year.

After the bar exam, Bill entered the U.S. Army as an officer. Upon his discharge, he became a staff attorney for the State Compensation Insurance Fund and worked in the Los Angeles and Sacramento offices.

Upon leaving State Compensation Insurance Fund in 1984, Bill helped form the law firm of Wyatt, Carrico & Pursley and eventually branched out on his own in 1989. The firm has steadily grown to what it is today.

Bill has two children, Daniel and Kaitlin.  He enjoys running, golf and hiking.

Bill is a Certified Specialist in workers’ compensation, a judge pro-tem, an arbitrator, a past president of the Sacramento County Bar Workers’ Compensation Section, and a member of the State Bar Workers’ Compensation Section.
